Everton manager David Moyes has bemoaned Senegalese winger Iliman Ndiaye’s injury in the Merseyside derby’s two-all draw against Liverpool on Wednesday.

Ndiaye left Goodson Park in tears barely 25 minutes into the Premier League game which saw other African players Mohamed Salah for Liverpool and Abdoulaye Doucoure for the hosts hog the limelight for wrong and right reasons.

Moyes’ men stole a point after James Tarkowski's last-gasp strike added to Beto’s opener, which Alexis Mac Allister canceled before the Egyptian Salah extended the lead.

In a post-match interview, Moyes told Everton’s website that he was unsure of the severity of the 24-year-old forward’s injury. "We think he's possibly kicked the ground and maybe jarred his knee or opened his knee up. We don't know how serious it is yet but we'll look tomorrow," he said.

Doucoure was also part of the drama as he received a second yellow card and with it a red card during the pushing and shoving that greeted the final whistle. Liverpool manager Arne Slot, his player Curtis Jones, and assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff were also sent off.

Ndiaye signed for Everton last season from French Ligue 1 side Marseille, returning to England where he previously played for Sheffield United.
