Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has revealed what they will be looking at when signing players in the coming transfer window.
According to the South African coach, the Wekundu wa Msimbazi will be going for players, who will be ready to come and help the team fight for the Mainland Premier League title in Tanzania.
The mid-season transfer window will officially open on Sunday, December 15, 2024, and will close on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
“At this moment, we need players who, if available, can improve the team right away. If nothing suitable comes up, we will stick with the same squad,” said Davids as quoted by the Guardian. “Some players take longer than others to adapt. New coach, new players, different environment in a big club - they need a bit more time.
“We still have not seen the best of most of these players, and we want to give them time to grow and reach their best level.”
Davids further confirmed the club has agreed terms to sign Congolese attacking midfielder Elie Mpanzu. “Mpanzu is already one change that is coming. It is not very easy to find players on the market who can immediately affect the squad,” he said.
“I don’t think there is any area that needs a complete overhaul. It’s about finding players like Mpanzu, who can come in and immediately challenge for a starting spot. That is the level we are looking for - not just players to add numbers.”
