Uganda Crested Cranes star forward Fazila Ikwaput continued to shine in the 2024/25 Indian Women’s League, scoring her third hat-trick of the season as Gokulam Kerala cruised to a 4-1 victory over Sethu FC at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Friday.
Ikwaput’s masterclass was instrumental in securing Gokulam Kerala’s fourth consecutive win of the campaign, keeping their unbeaten record intact on matchday six. The 2017 Airtel FUFA Women’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) has now taken her goal tally to an impressive 14 in just six matches.
The win lifted Gokulam Kerala to 14 points, just one behind current league leaders East Bengal. Since making her debut for Gokulam Kerala on January 6, 2025 where she netted a brace in an 8-0 thrashing of Sports Odisha Women, Ikwaput has been in unstoppable form.
She previously registered hat-tricks in a 3-2 win over fellow Ugandan Resty Nanziri’s East Bengal FC on February 2 at EMS Corporation Stadium and in a commanding 5-1 victory over Sreebhumi FC.
The former Lady Doves striker also played a key role in Gokulam Kerala’s 3-0 triumph over Hopes Football Club, scoring twice and salvaged a crucial point for her side with an equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Kickstart FC on matchday two. Ikwaput’s blistering goal-scoring form has been a driving force behind Gokulam Kerala’s strong title push.
