Wednesday action in Roshn Saudi Pro League witnessed four goals and two assists by African players, continuing their impressive performances.
Al-Kholood 0–1 Al-Okhdood
In a game decided by pure African quality, Al-Okhdood secured an away win against Al-Kholood by a lone goal.
The only goal of the match came in the 67th minute, scored by Nigerian striker Saviour Godwin with a close-range finish following a low cross from Guinean forward Pato.
This marked Godwin's fourth goal contribution in the last five matches, having netted three goals and provided one assist during that span.
Al-Kholood, meanwhile, featured African players such as Congolese striker Jackson Muleka and Comorian forward Myziane Maolida in the starting lineup, but they didn't make an impact on the scoresheet.
Current Standings:
Al-Kholood: 12th place, 31 points
Al-Okhdood: 15th place, 28 points – just two points above the relegation zone.
Al-Riyadh 2–2 Al-Fateh
In a thrilling encounter that saw African players contribute to every goal, Al-Riyadh drew 2–2 at home with Al-Fateh.
Comorian striker Faïz Selemani was the standout performer, providing an assist and a goal. He set up the opener when he was one on one with Al-Fateh goalkeeper then unselfishly passed to teammate Tozé, who slotted home.
Al-Fateh equalized through Moroccan forward Mohamed Amine Sbai, who finished clinically in stoppage time of the first half after a fine team work involving three passes.
This was Sbai’s fifth goal contribution in his last four games, scoring four and assisting one.
Selemani struck again in the 49th minute, putting Al-Riyadh ahead with a good finish from a cross – his third goal contribution in the last three matches, having scored against Al-Nassr also.
However, Algerian midfielder Sofiane Bendebka quickly equalized for Al-Fateh in the 53rd minute with a header from a corner kick. This was Bendebka's second goal in the last three matches.
