Federation Cup: Young Africans thrash second tier side to complete quarterfinal round

Reigning Tanzanian champions Young Africans are through to the quarterfinals of the Federation Cup, joining Singida Black Stars, JKT Tanzania and rivals Simba following an 8-1 thrashing of second division side Stand United on Tuesday.
Stephane Aziz Ki scored four goals and Clatous Chama added a brace as Yanga overwhelmed the club from Shinyanga. The hosts were ahead 4-0 by halftime and after Stand United pulled one back early in the second half, Aziz Ki responded with a second half hat-trick before Kennedy Musonda completed the scoring.
Simba SC were also in action against second division competition to open the round on Sunday. After going down to Mbeya City, Simba scored three goals in twenty minutes on their way to a 3-1 victory.
On Monday, goals from Niger national team forward Victorien Adebayor and Ghana's Jonathan Sowah confirmed Singida Black Stars' place in the final four over top division relegation fighters Kagera Sugar. JKT Tanzania's 3-1 victory over fellow NBC Premier League side Pamba Jijii completes the field for the semifinals of Tanzania's domestic cup competition.
