Former Ghana international, Richard Kissi Boateng has called for a proper and intensive preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
The Black Stars will host Chad on March 17 before traveling to Madagascar seven days later for the second match of the month.
Kissi Boateng’s call for maximum preparation comes following the four time African champions failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Morocco later this year.
The Black Stars finished bottom of group F with 3 points, failing to win a game in the six qualifying matches against winners Angola, second place Sudan and Niger who finished third above Ghana.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter finalists will miss the continental football tournament for the first time in 21-years with attention turned on the journey to the mundial in Mexico, Canada and the USA.
“We have the World Cup qualifiers coming and all what we need to do is to prepare for it and you know before you can achieve something, you need to prepare for it , you need to plan for it and per what I am seeing, organization is getting bad and bad every single moment,” Boateng told Pan-Africa Football.
“Because, the World Cup is the biggest platform and every country wishes to attend that tournament, so, we working our way to qualify is not going to be easy but it demands hard work.
“It is up to the coach, the federation and everybody around the team to wake up and put up their maximum effort because it is not going to be easy and how we organize our things, you don’t see the future of our organization. We only attend to situations if it becomes worse.”
Ghana sit second in group I on 9 points same as Comoros but on two inferior goal difference to the Islanders after four matches played.
