Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League outfit AFC Leopards have officially confirmed the exit of head coach Tomas Trucha.

The Czech tactician has not been sitting on the dugout since the last time when the club announced they had parted ways. However, Trucha later maintained that he was still contracted to the Kenyan club despite the official statement from Ingwe.

Ingwe have confirmed his exit in a statement from the club seen by Pan-Africa Football: “AFC Leopards expresses its gratitude to coach Tomas [Trucha] for his service rendered to the club, particularly in getting the team from 17th position to top five positions in the Premier League 2023/24 season and third place in FKF Kenya Cup 2023/24.

“We wish him the best in his future undertakings.”

In his response, Trucha said: “I would like to express my gratitude for giving me the opportunity to be part of AFC Leopards with all its rich history. I thank the club chairman, NEC members, officials, and players. I wish AFC Leopards all the best for the rest of the season.”

Trucha started off the new season on a winning note as AFC Leopards smashed promoted side Mathare United 4-0. He then lost the second game 1-0 against Posta Rangers, before Ingwe recovered to beat Bidco United 1-0.

His fourth game was against Nairobi City Stars which Ingwe won 2-1 before a 1-1 draw against Kariobangi Sharks. He then lost his second game of the season - a 1-0 defeat against Murang’a Seal at SportsPesa Arena.
