AFC Leopards dropped crucial points following a 0-0 draw against Kariobangi Sharks in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League fixture on Sunday.

Ingwe went into the fixture seeking to make it two wins out of two but they were unable to unlock the Sharks defence which fought for every ball. Ingwe created enough chances to win the game but their strikers failed to convert them into goals.

The draw saw AFC Leopards keep their fifth position in the 18-team league table with 30 points from 19 matches. They have won eight matches, drawn six and suffered five defeats.

For Sharks, they dropped to 13th position with 22 points from 20 matches. Sharks have won four matches, drawn four and lost 10. In another fixture, Posta Rangers came from a goal down to sink Shabana 2-1.

Tore Bobe scored the opener in the 29th minute when Dennis Okoth found space inside Posta’s danger zone to unleash a right-footed effort into the roof of the net. However, Posta Rangers launched a comeback in the 44th minute when Shami Mwinyi capitalised on a defensive mistake to stab home.

The comeback was complete in the 52nd minute, this time Ivan Wekesa finishing off a cross from the right to stun Shabana fans at Dandora Stadium. The win pulled Posta Rangers from the relegation zone to safety as they landed in 15th position, two places above the drop zone, with 20 points from 20 matches.

The defeat left Shabana in seventh position with 28 points accumulated from seven wins, seven draws and six defeats. Meanwhile, Ulinzi Stars and Kakamega Homeboyz produced a 0-0 draw.

Elsewhere, Mara Sugar rediscovered their winning form to hammer FC Talanta 4-1 at the SportPesa Arena. It was Talanta, who scored first after Mara defender Emmanuel Osoro diverted the ball into his own net while trying to clear a dangerous cross in the 37th minute.

However, in the second half, Mara levelled matters in the 48th minute when Richard Obaga converted from the penalty spot before Eric Juma put them 2-1 up in the 51st minute. Joseph Okwenda then scored the third in the 82nd minute before he sealed the win with a stoppage time goal in the 90th minute.

The Sugar Millers have now amassed 25 points from seven wins, four draws and nine defeats to stay ninth while the defeat saw Talanta drop to 16th with 18 points.
