Bidco United derailed Gor Mahia's march to the top of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League table following a 1-0 win in their league fixture played on Sunday.
K'Ogalo went into the game having won their last three fixtures - 2-0 against Kakamega Homeboyz, 2-0 against promoted side Mara Sugar and 3-2 against FC Talanta.
All the three wins came under the interim coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno, who was promoted from the assistant role after the club took the decision to fire head coach Leonardo Martins Neiva owing to a string of poor results.
However, their momentum came to a halt after struggling Bidco United stunned the record champions with a first half goal from the penalty spot. It was Eric Michubu, who stepped up to score in the seventh minute and Bidco held on to carry maximum points.
The defeat left Gor Mahia fourth on the 18-team league table with 17 points, six fewer than table leaders KCB. Gor Mahia have managed five wins, two draws and three defeats.On the other hand, Bidco moved up the log to 12th with 14 points from 12 matches.
They have recorded three wins, five draws and four defeats.In another fixture, Shabana FC registered their fourth win of the campaign following a 2-1 result against FC Talanta at Gusii Stadium. Despite playing at home, it was Talanta who scored first, a two minute goal courtesy of Emmanuel Osoro.
However, Tore Bobe responded immediately, as two minutes later, they drew level when Brian Michira found the bottom corner. Michria then scored the winner in the 55th minute.
The win pushed Shabana to eighth with 16 points accumulated from four wins, four draws and our defeats while Talanta dropped to the relegation zone with 10 points from 11 matches.
Elsewhere, Bandari dropped points at home following a 1-1 draw against KCB while Posra Rangers suffered a 1-0 defeat against Kariobangi Sharks to stay rooted at the bottom of the pile.
