Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League outfit KCB have suffered a huge blow in their quest to win the league title after defender Haniff Wesonga suffered an injury.
The Bankers have confirmed the defender will now face up to three months on the sidelines after several scans revealed that he had torn Lateral Collateral Ligament on his right knee.
A statement from the club confirmed the news: “Center back Haniff Wesonga is facing up to three months on the sidelines after a scan revealed the player has a torn Lateral Collateral Ligament on his right knee.
“The player suffered the injury while on national team duties during the Mapinduzi Cup tournament. Quick recovery Mabelle.”
His injury will be a huge blow to the Bankers, who have been leading the 18-team league table for the better part of this campaign. Tusker’s 1-0 against Bandari enabled the Brewers to dislodge KCB from the summit.
Tusker have amassed 30 points while KCB are second with 27 points.
