Tusker coach Charles Okere has called on his players to start scoring goals following their 0-0 FKF Premier League draw against KCB at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.

A difficult outing with few chances ended in a point that took the Brewers tally of points to 37, to remain second on the 18-team league table. The Brewers had some great chances in the opening half, Ryan Ogam finding space, but his eventual left footer evaded the target by a whisker.

Eric Balecho also had a good opportunity when he rifled a shot from distance, but it was blocked for a corner that was eventually cleared.

“We thank God for the one point (against KCB), one point is very important in any competitive league, we got one point plus a clean sheet and that is something healthy for the team moving forward,” said Okere.

“First half we didn’t play well, there was no clarity in terms of building up from our third play to the second area of our opponents, we need to work on that before our next match, we need to be comfortable and play according to plans.

“I can say we need to create those scoring opportunities so that we can score, it is an area we will work on, we want to win matches by scoring goals, we need to improve on our attack, and that is key for us now, we need goals to compete at the highest level.”

Tusker will next face reigning champions Gor Mahia on Saturday.
