Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League champions have confirmed there is a fallout within the technical bench involving head coach Sinisa Mihic and his assistants.

Reports emerged on Friday on social media that the Croat tactician had chased away his assistants Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno and Michael Nam, accusing them of sabotaging his work.

Gor Mahia have issued a statement on the issue as seen by Pan-Africa Football confirming the reports: “News circulating on social media about a fallout between coach Mihic and the technical bench hold some truth,” read part of the statement.

“The coach reportedly feels that the technical bench is backstabbing him and sabotaging his efforts with certain players. He accused his two assistants, Zedekiah "Zico" Otieno and Michael (Nam), along with team manager Victor Nyaoro, of pressuring him to play some foreign players whom he believes do not deserve a place in the squad at the expense of local talent."

“That said, the club will act swiftly to resolve the differences. We urge all K’Ogalo fans to remain calm. Our able chairman, Ambrose Rachier is a real leader. He often stand out during such moments.”

Gor Mahia are currently preparing for their Premier League fixture against KCB at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.
