Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League champions Gor Mahia and Tusker dropped crucial points following a 0-0 draw at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.
While K’Ogalo went into the fixture seeking a win to cut the gap between them and the Brewers to two points, Tusker’s eyes were on leaders Kenya Police FC, who had defeated Bidco United on Saturday to move two points clear at the top of the 18-team league table.
However, the fixture in Machakos could not produce goals and in the end, Tusker remained second on the log with 39 points, two less Police, who have 41 while K’Ogalo maintained their third spot with 35 points, though they still have a game in hand.
At Gusii Stadium, Shabana failed to break down a resilient Mathare United as the two sides battled to a 0-0 draw. Tore Bobe dominated the proceedings but their finishing let them down.
They created chances after chances but the ‘Slum Boys’ remained tight at the back to snatch a vital point on the road. Shabana are now eighth on the table with 29 points accumulated from seven wins, eight draws and six defeats.
Meanwhile, Mathare remained 14th with 22 points garnered from five wins, seven draws and eight defeats.
