Reigning champions Gor Mahia will face Tusker in one of the biggest matches in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League on Sunday.

While K’Ogalo, who are sitting third on the 18-team league table will seek to win and close the gap between them and the Brewers to one point, Tusker will move top if they manage to down their rivals.

Currently, Tusker is sitting joint top with Kenya Police on 38 points from 20 matches each but Gor Mahia, who are third on 34 points, have a great advantage as they still have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, before Tusker face Gor Mahia on Sunday, Kenya Police will have a chance to move three points at the top, if they beat Bidco United on Saturday. Against Tusker, Gor Mahia will also strive to avenge the first round 2-1 defeat.

Last season, Gor Mahia harvested six points from the Brewers on their way to clinching a record 21 league titles. They won the first round meeting 1-0 before registering the same result in the reverse contest.

In the previous campaign, Gor Mahia won the first round meeting 2-1 before the second round fixture produced a 0-0 draw. In the 2023 season, Tusker beat Gor Mahia 2-0 in the first round before K’Ogalo recovered to win the second round game 2-1.

On Saturday, AFC Leopards will travel to face Mara Sugar seeking to bounce back from their disappointing 0-0 draw against Kariobangi Sharks in their last outing.

However, Ingwe will have to be cautious against a Sugar Millers side, who humiliated FC Talanta 4-1 in their last league fixture. In other matches, Bandari will host Talanta, Murang’a Seal will be at home against Ulinzi Stars, while Sofapaka will entertain KCB.
