After leaving Football Kenya Federation (FKF) title chasing Kenya Police FC on mutual agreement, Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has sealed a transfer move to Kakamega Homeboyz.

A statement from the club obtained by Pan-Africa Football confirmed the arrival of the 37-year-old, who has also played for AFC Leopards, Posta Rangers and Tusker in the top-flight.

“We are delighted to announce the arrival of goalkeeper Patrick Matasi,” read part of the statement. “Known for his leadership skills, astute manning of the yards, and wealth of experience having won FKF-PL and Mozzartbet Cup titles with Tusker and Kenya Police, as well as representing the country at the prestigious AFCON stage.

“Matasi joins to strengthen our goalkeeping department. Welcome back home Kenya One.”

Meanwhile, Mathare United have sealed the signing of defender Francis Kayugi on a two-and-a-half-year deal from semi-professional side Topnotch Appliances.

“Mathare United confirms the signing of defender Francis Kayugi on a two-and-a-half-year deal from semi-professional side Topnotch Appliances,” read a statement from the club.

“The Laiser Hill Academy Alumnus has previously played for Kibera Black Stars and Naivas FC in the National Super League.

“Kayugi first tried out with the team ahead of the 2022/23 season but was unfortunate not to make the final cut. Born and bred in Malindi, the left-footed stopper, who is commonly referred to as Ali by his peers, links up with Brian Ouru, Dan Odhiambo, Starlon Odhiambo and Derrick Anami, all his former teammates at Black Stars and Naivas.”

He becomes the fifth signing for the ‘Slum Boys’ so far in the on-going transfer window.
