Kenya Police FC will move three points clear at the summit if they manage to beat AFC Leopards in a rescheduled Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League fixture at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Tuesday.

The law enforcers are currently sitting joint top with Tusker at the helm of the 18-team league table with 41 points apiece, but they are ranked number one ahead of the Brewers because they have a better goal aggregate.

The Brewers had a great opportunity to move above Police but they managed a 0-0 draw against Bandari away at Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday. The game against Ingwe provides Police with an opportunity to move clear at the top and also make amends from their last outing where they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Mathare United.

In the first round meeting, AFC Leopards emerged 1-0 winners. Ahead of the fixture, Ingwe coach Fred Ambani is not looking at what they achieved in the first round contest insisting Police have improved since they last time they met.

“We don’t have to look at the first round result, many things have changed since we played against them, remember they have a new coach, and they have been playing good football and grinding out good results,” Ambani told Pan-Africa Football.

“If we dwell on the past, we will shoot ourselves on the foot, we don’t have to think of the past, we have to think of the future and the game we have against them, my players are aware of what Police can do and we are ready to get a win.”

On Wednesday, champions Gor Mahia will face Kariobangi Sharks in another rescheduled fixture at Dandora Stadium.
