Tusker FC have continued to show their intent to win the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League title this season following the acquisition of two more signings in the current transfer window.
The Brewers have confirmed the return of Luke Namanda from rivals AFC Leopards on a short-term contract till the end of the season, and talented winger Ian Simiyu from Nzoia Sugar FC.
“Tusker is thrilled to announce the signing of winger Luke Namanda from AFC Leopards on a short-term contract till the end of the season. The dynamic and talented Namanda returns to Ruaraka after three years, having previously left the club in 2021,” the Ruaraka-based club announced the arrival of Namanda.
“Namanda left for Rwanda, where he played for Musanze FC for two seasons, before coming back home to join Leopards. Namanda’s return adds further depth to our squad as we aim to strengthen our attacking options for the remainder of the campaign. The winger, known for his pace, creativity, and ability to deliver key assists, is expected to make an immediate impact on the field.”
“We are delighted to welcome Luke back to Tusker,” said Tusker’s head coach Charles Okere. “He’s a player with great potential, and his previous experience with us will be valuable. We believe his addition will give us a boost as we continue to push for success in the league and other competitions.”
On making a comeback to Tusker, Namanda said: “It feels great to be back at Tusker. I’ve always felt at home here, and I’m looking forward to helping the team achieve our goals. When I left here, I left as a league champion. I am coming back and I am hopeful I can return with the same touch and win trophies. I can’t wait to get started and give my best for the fans and the club.”
Meanwhile, Simiyu joined Tusker after a stellar half season in the National Super League, where he was the competition’s top scorer, netting 13 goals and providing six assists. He penned a two-year contract at Ruaraka.
On signing the player, Okere said: “He is a player that we have keenly followed throughout the first leg of the NSL and we are optimistic that he brings with him a lot of potential. We know that he has what can spur our forward line and will bring the necessary competition in the team.”
The Brewers are currently sitting second on the 18-team league table with 39 points, two less table leaders Kenya Police and they have played one match less.
