Shabana FC will host Tusker in one of the six Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League matches lined up across the country on Saturday and Sunday.

While the Brewers won their last assignment 3-1 against Posta Rangers, the Kisii-based Glamour Boys will be out to make amends having fallen 1-0 against Mathare United.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides in the top-flight. Last season, Shabana, who had just been promoted from the National Super League (NSL), stunned Tusker in the first meeting before losing 4-0 in the second round meeting.

Tusker are currently in a run of two unbeaten matches, with their last defeat coming in the humiliating 4-1 result against AFC Leopards on December 11. The Brewers have gone ahead to beat Bidco United 2-1 and Posta Rangers 3-0.

On the other hand, Tore Bobe’s last win in the league came on December 15, when they floored KCB 2-0. Before the fixture against the Bankers, Shabana had earned a vital point after forcing the reigning champions Gor Mahia to a 1-1 draw.

A win for Tusker will see them dislodge KCB from the top of the 18-team league table as they will reach 30 points, three more than the Bankers, who will not be in action this weekend.

In other matches on Saturday, Posta Rangers will be out to make amends when they host Nairobi City Stars. Rangers will go into the fixture having lost to Tusker, while Simba wa Nairobi lost 2-1 against Ulinzi Stars.

Last season, it was City Stars who sealed a double over Rangers, winning the first meeting 1-0 before repeating the same result in the reverse fixture. In the previous campaign, the first meeting ended 0-0 before Rangers recovered to beat City 3-2 in a five goal thriller.

FC Talanta will welcome Kakamega Homeboyz in a match they have to win to keep alive their hopes of surviving relegation. Talanta are currently sitting 16th, two places below the drop zone with 14 points from 15 matches.

On Sunday, Ulinzi Stars will entertain promoted Mara Sugar while Bidco United will be up against Murang’a Seal. Meanwhile, Mathare United will entertain Kariobangi Sharks in the ‘Slums Derby’.
