Tusker FC reclaimed top spot in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League table following a hard-fought 1-0 win against Bidco United at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

After a 0-0 outcome in the first half, the Brewers started the second period with a lot of force but they were forced to wait until the 70th minute when forward Deogratious Ojok broke the deadlock with a clinical finish from outside the box.

The Brewers continued to dominate proceedings but they could not take advantage of a red card to Jacob Onyango and double their lead, the score remaining 1-0 in their favour at the final whistle. The slim but vital win saw Tusker move top of the 18-team table with 47 points from 25 matches.

They have managed 13 wins, eight draw and suffered four defeats. However, Tusker’s stay at the summit could be short-lived as second-placed Kenya Police FC will move above them if they manage to beat Posta Rangers at the same venue on Sunday.

Police are second with 45 points accumulated from 12 wins, nine draws and three defeats. In other league matches, FC Talanta secured a 2-0 win against Sofapaka while Mathare United came from a goal down to defeat Mara Sugar 2-1.

Elsewhere, Bandari gunned down Ulinzi Stars 2-1 at Mbaraki Sports Club while Kariobangi Sharks snatched a point in a 0-0 draw against Nairobi City.
