AFC Leopards bounced back to winning ways following a slim 10 win against Kenya Police in an FKF Premier League fixture on Sunday.
Ingwe needed a second half strike courtesy of Kennedy Odhiambo to compound the law enforcers to their fourth defeat of the season. Odhiambo capitalised on Police’s defensive blunders to stab home in the 75th minute.
The win saw Ingwe jump to seventh on the 18-team league table with 14 points from 10 matches while Police remained rooted second from the bottom with nine points from nine matches.
Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz scored two first half goals to beat Shabana 20 at Mumias Complex. Moses Shummah and Glen Masava scored for Abana Beingo in the 12th and 33rd minutes respectively.
Elsewhere, Ryan Ogam scored his first top flight hat-trick as Tusker FC clinched a dominant 3-1 victory over Murang’a Seal at the St Sebastian Park. Ogam found the back of the net twice in quick succession in the first half before completing his hattrick at the death to take his tally for the season to 10 in seven games.
Substitute Humphrey Obinna had pulled one back for the hosts with quarter of an hour left to make for some nervous minutes, but Ogam’s goal calmed the nerves for the third successive victory of the season.
The Brewers had a strong start top the match with some good chances. Shaphan Siwa had two good chances, first his flick at the near post saved by the keeper before another effort on the volley was blocked on the line.
John Njuguna, making his first start of the season coming in for the injured Naaman Balecho, also had a good chance when he was put through on goal by Ogam, but his low effort rolled wide.
