Former Ghana junior international Eric Ayiah has stepped a notch higher in his football career after signing with Portuguese second-tier side FC Felgueiras.

The 24-year-old diminutive forward joins Felgueiras from Liga 3 outfit, CD Trofense where he was a constant performer. Ayiah, who has featured for AS Monaco’s U19 side, experienced a downturn in his career but a move to Portugal revived his career.

The former Ghana U-17 captain had a decent campaign with CD Trofense, contributing four goals and three assists in 18 matches this season before switching to Felgueiras.

The Portuguese club posted a short statement on their Facebook page welcoming their new signee to the club that sits 13th on the 18 club 2024/25 Liga Pro standings.

"Now you are one of us. Welcome to your new home, Eric!"

Ayiah has previously played for Gil Vicente in Portugal after leaving the junior side of French Ligue 1, AS Monaco. He has previously been managed by renowned football agent, Jorge Mendes.

He is yet to be called to the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars and the current move could be a fine opportunity to revive his career in a bid to earn a call-up in the near future.
