Al Ahly will turn to a former player on loan to add depth to the Egyptian giants in preparation for the highly anticipated FIFA Club World Cup 2025, set to take place in the United States next June.
Al Ahly has brought back former midfielder Hamdy Fathy from Qatari club Al-Wakrah SC after the end of the season.
The agreement was formalized during a meeting between Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib and Sheikh Khalifa bin Hassan, president of Al-Wakrah SC, as part of a goodwill visit by El-Khatib to Qatar. Both sides agreed on the loan transfer.
Hamdy Fathy is no stranger to the Red Devils having enjoyed a highly successful stint with Al Ahly from 2019 to 2023 before his move to Qatar.
During his time with the club, Fathy was an integral part of a golden period that saw Al Ahly achieve titles both domestically and continentally.
