Former Sofapaka FC head coach David Ouma has joined Tanzania's Mainland Premier League outfit Singida Black Stars as an assistant coach.

A statement from the club confirmed obtained by Pan-Africa Football: “We continue to strengthen our technical bench by adding Kenyan coach David Ouma as an assistant.”

Previously, he led Coastal Union, working with Harambee Stars players Johnmark Makwata and Abdalla Hassan. At Singida, he teams up with Harambee Stars striker Elvis Rupia, the club's main forward.

Singida remained without a coach following their decision to fire Patrick Aussems alongside his assistant Dennis Kitambi owing to a string of poor results.

Ouma had to exit from his role as the sporting director at Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) club Sofapaka, where he had also served as the head coach during the 2022/2023 season.

He also guided Harambee Starlets to qualify for the Women’s African Cup of Nations tournament in 2016 in Yaounde, Cameroon,
