Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko will heave a sigh of relief following the injury return of goalkeeper, Frederick Asare.

The safest pair of hands returned to training with the record of Ghana Premier League holders ahead of the start of the second round of the Ghana Premier League this weekend. Asare joined his colleagues for group training on Tuesday after almost two months out with a knee injury.

The former Accra Lions goalkeeper is expected to be declared fully fit before the game against Karela United on match day 18. The shot-stopper's return was received with excitement by coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

"I was informed by the medical team of Asare's recovery process, and though there's no definite date for his return, it's definitely refreshing for the team because he is the leader, and it is always good to have him back," said Ogum.

"All of us here will offer him all the time and support he needs to recover fully."

In his absence, Guinean shot-stopper Mohammed Camara has been the man between the sticks.

Meanwhile, Kotoko will be without defender, Emmanuel Kotei and lethal striker, Albert Amoah after both players suffered various injuries. They currently sit third on the league table with 31 points after the first round of matches.
