Pontsho Moloi has thrown in the towel as Gaborone United head coach, hours after playing out a goalless draw with Botswana Defence Force (BDF) XI in the Premiership match on Saturday.

In a statement, Gaborone Director, Nicolas Zakhem, fell short of disclosing the reason behind Moloi’s decision to leave the club midway through the FNB Premiership campaign.

"We have accepted the coach's decision. He has done well for the club. We wish him all the best," Zakhem said.

The coach left hours after Gaborone’s goalless draw against BDF XI at Gaborone United Stadium where Moloi, in a post-match interview, had rued missed scoring opportunities.

He said: "It's a disappointing result, we created chances but failed to convert. We substituted at the start of the second half because we need creativity as we advance."

Following the fourth draw this season which has produced seven wins and two defeats, Gaborone are four points off the pace with the leaders, Tafic FC.

In other results, Jwaneng Galaxy held league leaders Tafic to a goalless draw, a result similar to Chidibe’s meeting with Extension Gunners. At the same time, Township Rollers remain two points behind the leaders after being frustrated to a one-all draw by VTM FC.

The only win of Saturday saw Ngwako Ramokgathadi and Bame Morwalela scoring for Sua Flamingoes in their 2-1 beating of Matebele FC at Lobatse Sports Complex.
