Nigeria international Victor Osimhen believes mistakes cost his side a win against Dynamo Kyiv in their Europa League fixture at RAMS Park on Tuesday.
The Super Eagle was among the goals as Galatasaray secured a 3-3 draw in the six goal thriller. Osimhen’s goal came from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute but a double from Andriy Yarmolenko in the 68th and 81st minute ensured Dynamo snatched a vital draw.
The former Napoli forward has now called on his teammates to take responsibility for the result and learn from their mistakes in readiness for subsequent matches.
“We are disappointed. We thought we deserved more. We need to take responsibility as a team. I think we all made mistakes. They also fought well and scored goals,” Osimhen said as quoted by the club’s website.
“There were two consecutive draws. Now we need to work and learn from our mistakes. We need to focus on the upcoming matches.
“We need to understand each other better at certain moments. If I’m going strong, I look at who I can pass to and who I can receive the pass from. We could have scored more goals today. We need to learn from our mistakes and be better.”
In Europa League campaign, Osimhen has so far scored four goals from five matches and provided one assist.
