Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that Gaston Sirino will not be available when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in their Betway Premiership fixture at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria on Saturday.
According to the club’s official website, Sirino will not be involved owing to suspension.
“Chiefs will be without Gaston Sirino in this match (against Sundowns) after he picked up a red card in Amakhosi’s last match, against SuperSport United,” read part of the statement.
It will be a huge blow for Amakhosi, who will be seeking revenge having lost the first round meeting 2-1 at FNB Stadium. During Saturday's fixture, there will be a lot to fight for with three valuable points on the line.
Amakhosi are currently lying in seventh position on the log with 25 points after 18 matches while the Brazilians, who are the defending champions, are sitting at the top of the standings with 48 points in 18 games.
