Ghana forward Kwesi Okyere signs for Turkish second tier club Sanliurfaspor

Turkish club Şanlıurfaspor have announced the capture Ghana attacker Kwesi Okyere Wriedt, signing the German-born player on a contract until the end of the 2025-26 season.


The 30-year-old Ghanaian striker joins the second tier side to help bolster their squad for the ongoing Liga 1 season. The club is currently battling relegation as they sit 18th on the league table after 21 matches with 25 points.


Kwesi Okyere Wriedt, who last featured for Manisa FK, was officially unveiled in a signing ceremony alongside club manager Ahmet Bulut. The club confirmed the transfer with a statement on their social media handles.


"Welcome aboard, Wriedt! Our club has signed professional footballer Kwasi Okyere Wriedt. Kwasi Okyere Wriedt officially joined our team at the signing ceremony accompanied by our club manager Ahmet Bulut. We welcome Wriedt to his new home and wish him a successful career in our Yellow Green jersey."


The experienced forward is expected to bring competition in attack while also contributing to the team's defensive structure. Wriedt featured mostly as a substitute with previous club Manisa with 3 goals and 2 assists in 20 matches during the first half of the 2024-25 TFF 1. Lig campaign.
