Former president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has offered the needed advice that would see the nation qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco for the first time in 20-years after a horrendous qualifiers that saw them finish bottom of group F on three points.
The next journey to redeem their image is set for March next year when the road to Canada, Mexico and USA resumes against Chad in the qualifiers.
Ghana shares nine points with Islanders, Comoros in group I after four matches played in the qualifiers. Nyantakyi, who helmed the Ghana FA between 2005 and 2018, spoke to Lawson FM in Ghana.
"I don't think all is lost, but we have to fix it," he stated. "We have World Cup qualifiers in March against Chad and Madagascar, and I believe that the right players will have to be called for these games.
"It should not be the normal call-ups but players who are ready and dedicated to play for the country and the shirt," he added.
Nyantakyi steered the four time African champions to three straight FIFA World Cups in 2006, 2010 and 2014 in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively.
