Accra Lions have regained their groves in the Ghana Premier League despite struggling to stay far from the drop zone.
The club recorded two straight wins against Basake Holy Stars and title contenders, Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium to increase their chances of surviving relegation. Head coach Rainer Kraft has stressed on the importance of winning on the road if the club is to survive in the Ghana Premier League.
The Accra-based side will journey to Kpando after a morale-boosting 3-0 victory over Asante Kotoko in the outstanding week 22 fixture.
"We have to prepare for the game in Kpando. Of course, we have some confidence now, Karela will play Nsoatreman, where they will gain three points. We need a minimum of four points to be ahead of them and then we have it in our own hands. We will go for win anyway and if there is a point, then there is a point," Kraft said.
"We need to win away games, we have collected 13 points in our last five games at home at the University of Ghana and here at the Accra Sports Stadium. We now have to go for our first away win," he added.
Accra Lions away record has been unimpressive as they are yet to win a game on the road in the 2024/25 season. They currently sit 14th on the league table on same points as Vision FC and just Karela United.
