Asante Kotoko proved too strong for Vision FC on Sunday, nailing the newly promoted side by 4-1 in the last game of the 17th round of the Ghana Premier League. All the last games were played simultaneously across various venues to avoid discrepancies in officiating.
Returnee striker Kwame Opoku scored a brace with Peter Amidu Acquah and Saaka Dauda getting a goal each for the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Stadium. Nana Kwesi pulled one back for Vision FC on the 22nd minute but that was not enough for the visitors to cause any problems for the record Ghana Premier League holders.

The win takes the two-time African champions to 31 points after the last game of the first round. They sit 3rd on the table, one point behind second place Nations FC and two adrift of first place Gold Stars.
Elsewhere, a fine encounter between Samartex and Hearts of Oak at Samreboi saw the home side reign supreme in first half, creating all the chances but struggling to find the net. Hearts of Oak have been winless against Samartex going into the game and were yet to win at the Nsenkyire Arena.
A wasteful Samartex plus goalkeeper Benjamin Asare saving the first department of the game for the Phobians pegged the proceedings at goalless moving into the break.
Samartex proved why Hearts of Oak had not beaten them at their home by controlling every department of the game in the second half. Goal scoring opportunities were created by Samartex but planting the ball behind Benjamin Asare in post for Hearts of Oak still proved hard.
Both sides failed to score, leaving the game barren. Hearts of Oak clocked a point, their first drawn game in Samreboi and now have 29 points in 5th position.
