Medeama SC striker Daouda Ben Sidibe has expressed delight in his return to the side after his brief loan spell at fellow Ghana Premier League club Basake Holy Stars.
The 24-year-old Burkina Faso attacker was sent on loan at the newly promoted side to gather more game time but his performance caught the eyes of new coach Ibrahim Tanko, prompting his re-call to the squad.
In an interview with the club’s media, Ben Sidibe said that he has learnt a lot from his loan stint and ready to replicate that upon his return.
“Medeama football and Basake [Holy Stars] is not the same. I knew coach Neboja [Kapor] here and when I went over there, I knew another coach, Gazale [Abdulai],” Ben Sidibe said.
“Gazale [Abdulai]’s training is not the same as Nebojar Kapor’s training but when I went there, I got another experience in Ghana football."
“I was happy [returning to Medeama] because before I finished my loan, I believed everything will be fine over there because football changes every moment. I knew that if I did well over there, Medeama will re-call me and when I did well over there they called me back and I was happy."
When asked about his personal target, Daouda Ben Sidibe enumerated three including scoring goals, winning titles and qualifying for continental football.
“I have three personal targets and I want to score more goals for Medeama, secondly I want to win titles for Medeama because Medeama’s target is winning the title. Medeama wants to play in Africa next season,” Sidibe added.
The talented striker joined the Ghana Premier League champions after leaving Burkinabe top-flight side Rail Club du Kadiogo. Medeama SC currently sit 7th on the Premier League table with 26 points from 18 matches and will next host strugglers, Legon Cities at the Tarkwa TnA Park on Sunday, February 2.
