Ghana Premier League: Gold Stars move to the top, Medeama tame new boys

Medeama SC continue to glitter under manager Ibrahim Tanko following a Week 21 outstanding fixture win against Holy Stars.
The Mauve and Yellow rallied from a goal down to beat the Premier League new boys by 2-1 at the TnA Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Issah Yakubu silenced the home fans after shooting Holy Stars ahead with 28 minutes played in Tarkwa however, the two time Ghana FA Cup winners responded before half time from the boot of Black Stars left-back Kamaradini Mamudu.
The former Premier League champions pushed for the lead throughout the game which they succeeded on the 89th minute from Derrick Fordjour despite missing an earlier spot kick.
The victory temporarily lifts Medeama into the top four, though Wednesday's results could affect their standing. Meanwhile, Basake Holy Stars remain in 13th position, six points above the drop zone.
In the other Tuesday fixture, Gold Stars returned to the top of the league table with a 2-1 win over Heart of Lions at the Duns Park.
The Miners scored twice from Samuel Atta Kumi and Gideon Anaba from the spot kick. Lions got a goal back from the boot of Nana Kwame Oppong on the 60th minute.
The remaining week 21 outstanding fixtures will be cleared on Wednesday 2 April, across the remaining venues.
