Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara has reacted to their 1-0 win over Medeama SC on Sunday in a return to the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobians nailed the Mauve and Yellow courtesy Rapahel Amponsah’s strike from 25-yards in week 26 of the Ghana Premier League. Prior to beating Medeama SC, the Phobians had gone four matches without recording a win, managing a draw and three losses.
When asked about the beauty of the game as against claiming three points, the Ivorian tactician addressed the need for three points more than playing beautiful football.
"Sometimes, I ask myself, what do you [journalists] want?" he replied irritably. When we are winning, you say that the show isn't a good one. When we're playing well but losing, you still moan. Tell me honestly - what do you actually want?"
"For me, I want three points. If I get those, all the hype doesn't bother me. The table does not record performances - it records points."
The win propelled the record FA Cup holders into 4th on the league table with 40 points, one behind third placed Heart of Lions who drew 1-1 at home against Asante Kotoko. Gold Stars sit 2nd on 44 points after losing 2-0 to Dreams fc with Asante Kotoko still occupying the top spot on 46 points after 25 league games
