Ghana’s two glamorous clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, sold out luckluster performances in their respective Week 20 Ghana Premier League games on Wednesday.

The outstanding fixtures were cleared with mixed results recorded across various venues with Kotoko losing the top spot and Hearts of Oak dropping all three points.

The Porcupine Warriors were looking to build points to retain the top spot after a 1-1 draw at Samartex last weekend but were held by resilient Young Apostles to a goalless draw.

The result yanked off the record Premier League holders from the summit of the log after Gold Stars earned a slim yet deserving 1-0 win at Holy Stars.

Elsewhere at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, Bechem United stunned Hearts of Oak by 1-0, condemning the record FA Cup holders to two straight losses.

Hearts were coming from a 1-0 defeat at home to Dream fc last weekend and were chasing a win badly to push for the title.

After 22 league matches cleared, Gold Stars now occupy the top spot with 40 points followed by Kotoko on 39 points.

Heart of Lions sit 3rd on the log on 37 points, just one better than Hearts of Oak and Bechem United completing the top five on same points as the Phobians.
