Hearts of Oak made a temporary ascent to the top of the Ghana Premier League table with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Young Apostles on Saturday.

The Phobians paraded a strong squad that included notable faces like goalkeeper Benjamin Asare who kept the visitors at bay throughout the entire game.

With just 42 minutes played at the Legon Sports Stadium, midfielder Mohammed Hussein floated a perfect corner kick which was headed home for the opener by Michael Awuah.

The record FA Cup holders proved too strong for the newly promoted side, doubling the lead on the 47th minute with a header from goal poacher Hamza Issah.

The victory sends the 2000 CAF Champions League winners momentarily on to the top of the table with 36 points from 20 games. The remaining league games will played on Sunday across various venues.
