Hearts of Oak midfielder, Hassan Husein is on cloud nine after his glowy performance against Legon Cities earned him a man-of-the-match award on Friday.

Husein, a recruit from lower tier side, Debibi United marshaled the midfield for the Phobians with great skill, distributing passes with stark finesse. His performance alongside teammates resulted in a well laid pass to youngster, Ramzy Yusif’s solitary goal and the eventual winner for the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup winners.

The diminutive midfielder was elated after securing the gong and he spoke to the media after the slim victory. “I feel very good, it was a very nice game though in the first half, we didn’t get the game as we wanted and when we got to the dressing room, our coach talk a lot [about the first half].

“We came back into the game and we corrected our mistakes and that helped us to carry the three points,” said Husein.

Husein has now collected three “Most Valuable Player” of the match award in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. The win propelled Hearts of Oak into second on 28 points with the remaining games set to be cleared on Saturday and Sunday.
