Former Ghana and Asante Kotoko striker, Eric Bekoe has weighed in on the biggest football derby between his former club and rivals, Hearts of Oak.
Kotoko, who are the record premier league title holders will host their sworn rivals on Sunday, December 15 in a week 13 encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium. Bekoe, who had a stellar season with Kotoko in the 2007/2008, scoring 17 goals in 23 games, believes the game will be centered on individual brilliance.
"Looking at the current form of the Kotoko striker (Albert Amoah) and the Phobia goalkeeper (Benjamin Asare), who has more clean sheets, it's going to be a supremacy affair," Bekoe said in an open interview.
"The striker would do all he can to score, and the goalkeeper too will try avoiding him from scoring. It's going to be an end-to-end ecstasy," he added.
Asante have won just one out of their last six matches with Hearts of Oak yet to lose a game in their last five outings. Kotoko are 7th with 18 points on the league table with Hearts of Oak in 6th on 19 points from 12 games in the 2024/25 league season.
