Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko has described their slim defeat against Hearts of Oak as “very painful.”
The Mauve and Yellow were coming from two straight wins – a 2-0 win over Aduana and a 2-1 against Holy Stars but suffered a loss against the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium in Week 25.
Hearts of Oak’s solitary goal came from Raphael Amponsah’s 25-yard belter of which Ibrahim Tanko finds painful to swallow.
"I think is a very painful defeat, looking at how the game went," disappointed Tanko said.
"We conceded a goal that we normally don't concede. After the goal, we came back very strongly, we had all the chances."
"I think that is the only chance they had in the first half, is not even a chance. A long shot and they score but in terms of performance I think they did very well, and definitely we are not happy about the results," he added.
The defeat marked Medeama's second consecutive league loss against Hearts this season and leaves Tanko's side in the 6th position on the league log with 38 points. Medeama will hope to return to winning ways when they host Dreams FC at the TNA Park in the Matchday 27 games this weekend.
