The Concerned Referees and Match Commissioners of Ghana (CRAMCOG) have officially written to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to inform them of their decision to withdraw their services for the remainder of the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season.
Their decision to suspend their services stems from a 21-week delay in the payment of allowances, depicting growing concerns over the neglect of match officials in Ghana.
CRAMCOG's message dated 27th April, 2025 calls for fairness for the officiating officials.By refusing to continue under these conditions, CRAMCOG stresses that respect for referees and commissioners is fundamental to preserving the sport’s integrity.
They warn that when officials are left unpaid, they become susceptible to external influences, which could compromise the credibility of the league.
Part of the letter read: “An empty sack cannot stand upright,” indicating their call for attention for referees and match commissioners’ welfare.
