Medeama SC put up a good show to claim all three home points against a struggling Karela United in a week 14 outstanding fixture on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tarkwa TnA Park went berserk when the home fans were treated to good football by both clubs but it was the Mauve and Yellow who run away with the 1-0 victory.
The former Ghana Premier League winners found the back of the net when Kofi Asmah put them ahead on the stroke of half time much to the ecstasy of the home fans.
Medeama needed the three point to keep their mid-table status intact and the win fixes them in 7th on 24 points, one behind Hearts of Oak with a game in hand to clear.
Karela United, who have parted ways with head coach Jimmy Cobblah were equally in dire need of three marks to move farther from the relegation battle but could not materialize under the guidance ex-Ghana goalkeeper Abukari Damba.
They currently sit in 13th on the league table with 14 points after 15 matches of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. They share the same points with Nsoatreman and new boys Young Apostles. The league goes into week 16 this weekend with mouth watering fixtures to be cleared.
