Hearts of Oak will be at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema as guests of Vision FC in week 27 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, 13 April.
The Phobians go into that game from a confident boosting 1-0 victory against Medeama SC at the Accra Sports Stadium in week 26. The record Ghana FA Cup holders are chasing the premier league title and they badly need a win against Vision to keep the race intact.
Head coach of the club Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed confidence about their chances of claiming all three points. “We are going to play on Sunday at Tema to get the maximum points and come back home,” Ouattara told Hearts TV.
“Everyone is ready, we are ready to play that match after we travel. All the players are well, we have a few players I don’t know if they can play. We have one red card [on Emmanuel Amankwah] and Hamza [Issah] also we can’t get him but it’s part of the game but we have good spare parts.”
The Ivorian tactician shared his thoughts on the contract extension of goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare. The Black Stars number one prolonged his stay at the 2000 CAF Champions League winners for two more years until 2027.
Ouattara expressed his joy at Asare’s decision to stay a bit longer with record FA Cup holders. “I’m happy, very very happy and Benjamin Asare will be with us for two seasons again. We need him. A goalkeeper who has discipline and for me I’m happy.”
Hearts of Oak are 5th on the league table with 40 points from 25 matches – six points behind leaders and rivals Asante Kotoko. Gold Stars are second on 44 points and Nations FC follow in third with 42 and Heart of Lions are 4th on 41 points.
