All roads will lead to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday when rival clubs, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak clash in a week 13 top liner of the Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko defender, Samba O’Neil has declared the Porcupine Warriors’ resolve to put up a good show on the afternoon. Both clubs have experienced mixed results this season being a far cry from their good old self in the domestic and continental front. Hearts of Oak sit 6th on the league table with 19 points, one less than Kotoko in 7th after 12 matches.

Samba, who is of Congolese descent, disclosed their readiness in an interview with the media.

“We are focused and ready to play the match on Sunday. It’s a big match but we are not under pressure.

“It normal to be under pressure but for us, it’s a positive pressure. For me, I always want to win so just us the Democracy Cup, we will win on Sunday.

“I will plead with our fans to continue supporting the team and I promise, we are going to make it easy on Sunday.” Samba O’Neil said.

The central defender won the Man of the Match prize when Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak to clinch the maiden Democracy Cup back in July 2024. The 24-year-old has made 9 appearances in the Ghana Premier League after 12 matches since joining Kotoko from Burkinabe club Rahimo.
