Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is among three key Southampton players who have been ruled out of their Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Saturday.
According to coach Ivan Juric, Sulemana, midfielder Tyler Dibling and new signing Albert Gronbæk will not be available for the fixture at St Mary's Stadium against the Toffees owing to their respective injuries.
Juric confirmed the absence of the Black Stars left winger by saying: "He won’t play against Newcastle as he has a little injury. He has a little problem with his hamstring and our medical staff are worried about that because he had problems in the past. I think, I hope, it’s nothing and from Monday he’ll start training with the team."
Sulemana was impressive when Southampton defeated Swansea 3-0 in the third round of the FA Cup on January 12. He scored in the game and followed his impressive show to the league fixture against Man United at Old Trafford.
At Old Trafford, he was handed a start but the Saints suffered a 3-1 defeat before he was handed a cameo display in the 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest.
So far this season, Sulemana has managed 11 appearances for the Saints, but his yet to score or create an assist. He joined Southampton in 2023, after agreeing to pen a a four-and-a-half-year contract from French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.
