Ghana national team legend André Ayew has opened up on his club Le Havre’s unimpressive run in the French Ligue 1 this season.

The experienced star has admitted that it has not been easy for the players and the fans due to their poor run of form in the French top flight. Dede’s comments come following their 3-0 defeat against Strasbourg over the weekend which sees them transfixed in the 17th position on the league log with 12 points.

Ayew spoke to the club’s media: “It’s not easy to be at home and hear that and see that the fans are not happy but I understand them," he said.

"We give everything, they also give everything. We are all in this situation together. We cannot give them the wins and that is what people really expect. We are going to try to make them happy but we really need them. Without them, it’s going to be complicated."

"I know they are still here they are with us but in difficult times we need them more and I can assure them we are going to do everything in May so that Le Havre will still be in Ligue 1," he added.

Le Havre will hope to return to winning ways when they take on Stade Briochin in the French Cup before engaging giants, Olympique Marseille.
