Ghana striker Emmanuel Boateng signs with Turkish club Gaziantep FK

Ghana international, Emmanuel Boateng has signed a permanent deal with Turkish Super Ligue club Gaziantep FK for the ongoing season.


The striker joins Gaziantep in a one-and-a-half year deal and is set to open a new chapter of his career. Club president Memik Yılmaz, who attended the signing ceremony, officially welcomed the 27-year-old to the Gaziantep family. The club equally expressed its optimism in a statement, saying, "We welcome Emmanuel Boateng to our club and wish him great success under our crest."


Emmanuel Boateng was scouted by a juvenile club in Accra called De Gunners FC before transferring to yet another lower tier side, Charity Stars in the capital. His European journey started when he moved to Portuguese side Rio Ave in 2014.


His career highlights include stints with fellow Portuguese side, Moreirense, Spain’s Levante and DL Yifang of China. Boateng was most recently with Saudi Pro League club Al-Orobah where he contributed two goals and two assists in thirteen matches over four months.


Boateng has scored 54 goals and 24 assists in 260 matches, earning 7 caps and 1 goals for the Ghana national team. He also earned four caps and scored a goal for the national U-20 side.
