Ghana’s senior women’s national team will step up preparations for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with an international friendly later this month.
The Black Queens will face North African side Morocco in an international friendly on February 21 at the Stade Père Jégo in Casablanca. The match forms part of the both teams' preparations for the rescheduled 2024 WAFCON which will take place in July in Morocco.
It will also mark the first assignment of Ghana’s new head coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, who was appointed last month.
The Black Queens have not played a match since their defeat to Japan in July 2024, having missed a number of friendlies against Senegal and Tunisia due to financial challenges. This game offers the Swedish trainer an opportunity to assess his squad as Ghana prepares for their first WAFCON appearance since 2018.
