Girabola: Kaporal strikes again to move Wiliete level with Petro de Luanda

Up until a couple weeks ago, Petro de Luanda were undefeated in all domestic competitions including Angola's top division Girabola where it appeared that Os Petrolíferos would claim a fourth consecutive title.

But another contender has risen to try and knock Angola's dominant club off their pedestal. Two weeks after stunning Petro, Benguela based Wiliete Sport Clube are now level on 51 points after their latest victory on Sunday with eight matches left to play.

Wliete defeated Luanda City by a 1-0 score to take advantage after Petro struggled to a 0-0 draw against Kabuscorp on Saturday. League leading scorer Kaporal continued his heroics with Wiliete by scoring the only goal of the match early in the second half.

Kaporal now has 19 goals in 21 league matches this season and 6 goals in his last 5 matches. He has nine more goals than the next name on the scoring list, Lito of CD São Salvador.

Petro only lead because of a superior head-to-head record with Wiliete, winning 2-0 at home earlier in the season and falling to a 0-1 defeat at Wiliete on March 16. Both teams will be away from home next weekend with Wiliete facing Kabuscorp on Saturday while Petro clash with relegation fighters Santa Rita.
