Fulham manager Marco Silva has discussed the level of winger Alex Iwobi after his impressive display enabled the club to secure a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The visitors came back twice as goals from Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson were cancelled out by Evanilson and a late suckerpunch from Dango Ouattara. It was almost a dream ending to the first period when the Nigeria international tried to pick out the top corner from range, but there wasn’t quite enough dip on his dangerous strike.

Speaking at the end of the game, Silva showered praise on Iwobi, who joined the Cottagers from Everton. “Alex Iwobi has been great,” Silva told the club’s official website. “Last season he was top, his best season up until that point, but this season is going to be better for him.

“He’s in a very good level, he’s scoring, he’s assisting, all in different positions.”

Prior to the game, Silva said on Iwobi as quoted by BBC Online: “He's been great. Last season was top and the best [he had been]. This season is going to be much better. [He is] already at a very good level - scoring and assisting. He's already being crucial and decisive for us in different positions - from the left, right and centrally. He's a very versatile player.”

So far this season, Iwobi has scored five goals and created three assists in 18 Premier League matches.
