Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has admitted that he needs to work on the scoring ability of his attackers.

The 2000 CAF Champions League winners resumed the Ghana Premier League season with a comfortable 2-0 victory against newly promoted Young Apostles in a week 23 game at the Legon Stadium on Saturday evening.

Despite wasting clear scoring chances, headed goals from Michael Awuah and Hamza Issah in the first half earned the Phobians all three points, propelling them to the top of the log on 36 points.

That notwithstanding, the Ivorian tactician believes his forwards need to be clinical in front of goal.

“I congratulate the boys to say they have done well. All the strategy we put in worked but this is our major problem, the scoring. We created the chances, we didn’t score but by that time the coach’s work is finished now is the players ability to score the goal but thank God we took that three points today, we got two goals."

“Our scoring ability is a problem, I will continue to work on it and the fitness and everything. I’m not disappointed, at the highest level this is part of the game.

The remaining Premier League games will be played on Sunday with the results determining whether the record FA Cup holders will remain atop the table.
